A village house. Don't worry Mom's this isn't how the missionaries live, just the natives
This is a soccer field near Port Harcourt, Nigeria. No grass, no lines, just a net and some guys who want to have a game.
Everyone plays soccer, although in West Africa it is always called football, but every boy knows how to play.
A good game always draws a crowd.
Notice our goalie has no shoes
This is one of the beautiful rivers in Nigeria. There is plenty of water in this land of Nigeria unfortunately it isn't always conveniently located to the villages or sanitary enough to be used for drinking and cooking
These kids are using the river for a little playtime. This is just 1/2 block from the temple in Aba. This little spot is used for washing clothes, cars, and bodies as well.
These kids are on one of their daily treks to get water for their families. They sometimes have to go a long way. This is why one of the Church's main iniatives is to dig bore holes for the villages. That way, these children can go to school instead of spend their days hauling water such long distances
This is how a well (or bore hole) is hand dug. Some of them have to go down 50-80 feet to hit good water. It is all done by manual labor
These Africans are hand digging the bore hole that will bring water to this village. Notice the muscles on these guys - they don't need to work out - they just work...African style. There isn't an ounce of fat on those bodies.
Some places are lucky enough to have wells that can store their water
Here is one of the ultimate aims of all that drilling, storing, and carrying of water just so little guys like this one can have a bath in the comfort of his own home.

Who wouldn't love this face? The following pictures are some of the most beautiful faces of Nigeria - the children. Elder Porter was able to capture some of their beautiful and revealing expressions.
Waiting on the doorsteps of life.
Precious children
A smile worth a million bucks!
It's easy to gather children. Just pull out a camera
Why do women always get the heavy loads?
Boys of the 'hood, some shy, some wary, some happy, some cautious.
