The primary children sang like angels and were led by an 11 year-old young boy.
The war dances were fearsome. Notice the three heads of their enemies in the tray he balances on top of his head and the machete in his hand.
The dancing and costumes were beautiful.
The youth from every stake had a chance to do a special number.
There was a lot of dancing and drums.
On Saturday afternoon we had a huge cultural celebration for the Nigerian youth on the temple grounds.
Elder Ollukani and his wife, Shade (Shaw-dee), are from Nigeria and we took their foto on the day of the dedication. This was how the beautiful Nigerian sisters came to the dedication...in their finest. Elder Ollukani is an Area Seventy and the other counselor in the Area Presidency.
Almost as soon as we arrived we found ourselves in Aba Nigeria at the dedication of the Aba Temple. President Hinckley arrived by helicopter and after we picked him up we headed to the temple. As we got to the street where the temple is (you can see the red roof of the adjacent stake center on the distant left, many of the members had lined the street and were waving white handkerchiefs at him. We were in the car behind him (that's him in the back seat of the car up front) and decided to take a picture of the waving crowd.
A flower among flowers.
There was a summer heat wave across Europe, but we stayed cool in this chasm.
Austria was elegant and refined AND FAMILIAR
This is our future retirement cottage. We found it during a walk along the river in Bad Hofgastein, Austria.
